    Good to know:

    Sowing: February / April
    Harvesting: May / June

Agualduce à Très Long Cosse is a vigorous, highly productive variety. Its large pods, measuring between 35 and 40 cm in length, contain 8 to 9 voluminous, fleshy beans.

You can enjoy this bean in a variety of ways: raw when half-ripe with a little salt or butter, cooked with lard or cream, in soups or purées.

How to sow Aguadulce beans :

Sowing: In February/March, in furrows 50 cm apart and 5 cm deep. Place a seed every 10 cm, then cover.
Care: When stems reach 30 cm in height, stub out the plants. Hoe and weed regularly.
Pinching: Pinch the stems between the 5th and 7th group of flowers to prevent aphid attacks and improve pod quality.
    Good combinations :

Beans thrive alongside corn, potatoes, celery, lettuce and artichokes. Avoid planting near bulb vegetables (onion, garlic, shallot). To keep aphids at bay, grow dill between rows of broad beans.

    Harvesting broad beans :

Beans are ready to harvest 3 to 4 months after sowing.

    Enemies :

Mildew: Watch for the appearance of gray mold on the leaves. If present, treat with Bordeaux mixture. For prevention, spray nettle manure on the soil before planting.
Bean rust: Identifiable by rust-colored blisters on the leaves, this disease is treated in the same way as mildew.
Aphids: If preventive measures fail, use a pyrethrum-based treatment to eliminate aphids.
Growing the Agualduce Very Long Pod bean promises a generous, flavorful harvest, perfect for a variety of dishes. Take advantage of its robustness and productivity to enrich your vegetable garden!
