    Good to know :

    Sowing: March / April
    Harvest: August / September

Sweet Chocolate peppers have a unique appearance, with elongated, fleshy, slightly ribbed fruits that turn from dark red to deep chocolate when ripe. Its mild, sweet flavor makes it a must-have.

To sow this bell pepper successfully, start in February/March, using cups of fine potting soil only 2-3 mm deep, in a greenhouse heated to around 25°C. Keep the potting soil moist, but not excessively, using a sprayer, and possibly adding crushed charcoal to prevent fungus. Place the cups under intense light or a horticultural lamp to prevent the seedlings from wilting upwards. Transplant into larger pots when the seedlings have developed 2 to 4 true leaves.

When transplanting to the garden in May, choose light, aerated soil with warm, sunny exposure, spacing the plants 50 cm apart in all directions. Ensure regular watering and mulching. Be careful not to over-fertilize with nitrogen, as this may favor foliage to the detriment of fruit. Peppers require high temperatures for their development, so in regions with cooler summers, greenhouse cultivation is recommended.

Peppers are generally harvested around 5-6 months after sowing.
