    Good to know :

    Sowing: April / June
    Harvest: May / August

Zucchini Striato d'Italia, originally from Italy, promises an abundance of long, light-green striped fruit of exceptional taste quality. Reaching maturity in just 55 to 60 days, you'll be able to quickly enjoy its delights in your kitchen.

To sow this zucchini successfully, start in April, using pots in a well-lit spot, with a minimum temperature of 12°C to ensure optimal germination. Place the seeds on edge and make sure the soil is kept moist, but not too moist to rot the seeds. Then place your pots near a light source to promote plant growth.

When it's time to transplant, choose a sunny spot in mid-May, spacing the plants one metre apart in all directions for non-running varieties. Don't forget to water regularly and add compost to enrich the soil. Also remember to pinch the stems to stimulate development and to hoe, weed and mulch the base to limit weeds and preserve moisture. Watering at the base, without wetting the foliage, is recommended, especially in summer.

As far as planting combinations are concerned, avoid planting your zucchinis near potatoes, but they will appreciate the company of beans and cabbages.

If your zucchini plant doesn't produce flowers or fruit, this could be due to factors such as hot weather or a lack of pollination. Make sure you attract pollinators to your garden by sowing floral mixes to encourage pollination and fruiting.

Finally, you can harvest your zucchinis around two months after sowing. Remember that the younger they are harvested, the less bitter they will be, offering a more delicate taste experience.
