Good to know :
Sowing: March / June and October / November
Harvest: September / DecemberCarotte Nantaise améliorée 2 is an easy-to-grow variety, thanks in particular to its pre-distanced seeds, which ensure optimal plant development. This heartless carrot has a very sweet flesh and mild flavor, and keeps very well.
To sow Nantaise carrots successfully, it's important to prepare the seedbed well. The ideal periods for sowing are March to June or October to November. Refine the soil well, water it, place the ribbon of seeds, then cover it with a mixture of very fine soil and sand for a few millimetres. Water lightly afterwards. To maintain humidity and prevent the surface from drying out, place a P17-type veil over the seedbed and keep it moist until the seedlings are well developed.
Harvesting takes place from September to December. When harvesting, don't forget to fill in the holes left by the carrots to prevent the remaining roots from drying out. Cutting the leaves just above the collar will also extend the carrots' shelf life.
Carrots can be harvested and eaten as and when needed, so you always have fresh vegetables on hand. Improved Nantaise 2 carrot seeds are spaced 1.5 cm apart on a 3-meter ribbon, making them much easier to place and grow.
