    Good to know :

    Sowing: March / June
    Harvest: September / December

The Colmar carrot is an easy-to-grow variety, especially with its pre-distanced seeds, which promote optimal plant development. This carrot has a large, long, conical root with red flesh. It is cold-hardy and can be eaten raw or cooked.

To sow the Colmar carrot successfully, it's important to prepare the seedbed well. You can sow from March to June. Start by fine-tuning the soil, watering it and then placing the ribbon of seeds. Cover it with a mixture of very fine soil and sand for a few millimetres, and water in a light rain. To maintain humidity and prevent surface drying, place a P17-type veil over the seedbed and keep it moist until the seedlings are well developed.

Colmar carrots are generally harvested between September and December. When harvesting, don't forget to fill in the holes left by the carrots to prevent the remaining roots from drying out. Cutting the leaves just above the collar will also extend the carrots' shelf life.

Carrots can be harvested and eaten as and when needed, so you always have fresh vegetables on hand. Colmar carrot seeds are spaced 1.5 cm apart on a 3-metre ribbon, making them much easier to place and grow.
