    Good to know :

    Sowing: April / June
    Harvest: June / August

The Alberello di Sarzana zucchini, true to Italian tradition, stands out for its non-coureness, earliness and hardiness. The harvest is abundant and the taste unbeatable. Its light-green, cylindrical and slightly ribbed fruits are as beautiful as they are delicious, with tender flesh that melts in the mouth. And that's not all: picking them is child's play, thanks to their shape and arrangement on the plant.

To sow Alberello di Sarzana zucchinis successfully, April is the ideal month. Place the seeds in cups on edge, keeping the soil moist but not over-watered. A temperature of at least 12°C is required for the seeds to germinate properly. Place your pots in a bright spot, close to a source of natural or artificial light.

Once your plants have a few leaves, it's time to transplant them into the ground, starting in mid-May. Choose a sunny spot, spaced about 1 m apart in all directions for non-runner varieties. Regular watering and composting will encourage their development.

Be sure to pinch the stems to stimulate growth, and don't forget to hoe, weed and mulch the base to limit weeds and preserve moisture. In summer, water at the base without wetting the foliage to avoid disease.

When combining plants, avoid planting your zucchinis next to potatoes, but they will be delighted to grow alongside beans and cabbage.

If your plants don't produce flowers or fruit, don't worry, it could be due to factors such as hot weather or a lack of pollinators. Make sure you attract pollinating insects by planting flowering mixes near your cucurbit crops.

Finally, zucchinis are generally harvested around 2 months after sowing. The younger they are harvested, the less bitter they will be, so don't hesitate to pick them regularly to enjoy their delicate flavor.
