    Good to know:

    Sowing: March / August
    Harvest: April / September

The round scarlet forcing radish is a crunchy delight, with a distinctive scarlet hue. Its round shape and vibrant color make it a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Perfect for quick cultivation, this radish doesn't dig, making it ideal for early harvesting.

To sow these radishes successfully, choose a period from March to August. Sow clearly, dividing the seeds into rays about 25 centimetres apart, in loose, rich, cool soil in full sun. Then thin out the plants to about 1 centimetre on the rows to give them enough space to grow. Cover the seeds with about 1 cm of potting soil and pack lightly. Be sure to remove weeds as soon as they appear and water regularly to prevent the radishes from becoming too prickly or not growing properly.

If you prefer to grow your radishes in a window box, make sure you control watering to maintain adequate humidity.

Radishes are generally harvested 4 to 6 weeks after sowing. It's best not to let radishes grow too long, but to harvest them when they're still small for best taste. And don't throw the tops away! They can be used to make a delicious radish tops soup - nothing goes to waste!
