Brin de Muguet cherry tomato seeds enable you to grow a specific variety of cherry tomato characterized by its small size and round shape. Brin de Muguet cherry tomatoes are appreciated for their sweet flavor and juicy texture, making them ideal for eating fresh, in salads, or as garnish for dishes and appetizers. To grow Brin de Muguet cherry tomatoes successfully, you can start by sowing the seeds indoors, before the last expected frost. Use cups or pots filled with light, fertile potting soil. Once the plants have developed a few leaves and any risk of frost has passed, they can be transplanted to the garden or to larger containers.

Brin de Muguet cherry tomatoes prefer well-drained soil rich in organic matter, as well as sunny exposure to develop properly. They need regular watering to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during periods of active growth and warm weather. It's important to support tomato plants as they grow, using stakes or cages to prevent fruit dragging on the ground and rotting. Brin de Muguet cherry tomatoes can be harvested once they have reached full maturity and come off easily. Use a sharp knife to cut them carefully.

    Good to know:

    Sowing: February / April
    Harvest: June / September

The Cerisette Brin de Muguet tomato is a disease-resistant, mid-season variety, producing numerous clusters of 10-20 g fruits with fine, slightly acid flesh. Perfect for cocktails, kebabs and garnishes.

When and how to sow the Brin de Muguet tomato :

Sowing period: February to April, on a warm bed (20°C) or in pots indoors/heated greenhouse, in fine sowing compost. Bury seeds 1 cm deep, then cover with potting soil. Use a sprayer to keep the potting soil moist but not soggy. Place the terrine near a window to prevent the seedlings from drifting towards the light. Transplant when seedlings reach 12-15 cm, after frosts, in rich, loose soil. Space plants 70 cm apart between rows and 50 cm apart in rows, in a sunny position. Install stakes before planting. Water abundantly once a week to prevent disease.

Should gourmets be removed from tomato plants?

Opinions differ on tomato pruning. Here are the options:

Pruning: increases fruit size and earliness, and facilitates harvesting. However, this requires time and discernment, and risks injuring the plants. We recommend applying maerl or green clay to heal wounds.

No pruning: allows natural development, but requires more space in the garden (1 m between each plant). Fruits will be smaller but more numerous.

Two-strand cultivation: pinch the plant 20 cm from the ground, keep two lateral strands, and remove the remaining suckers.

Harvesting: tomatoes can be harvested 4 to 5 months after sowing.

    Tomato enemies:

Downy mildew: protect your plants in rainy regions and treat with Bordeaux mixture.

Blossom end necrosis: caused by low calcium levels or irregular watering. Water regularly and abundantly, about once a week.

These tips will help you grow Cerisette Brin de Muguet tomatoes successfully, enriching your vegetable garden with tasty, hardy fruit.
