Les Landes very long sweet bell pepper seeds make it possible to grow a specific variety of bell pepper, known for its long, sweet fruit, native to the Landes region of France. Peppers of this variety are appreciated for their sweet flavor and thick flesh, making them a popular choice for a variety of culinary dishes. To grow very long sweet Landes peppers successfully, we recommend sowing the seeds in pots indoors before the last expected frost. Once the plants have reached an appropriate size and any risk of frost has passed, they can be transplanted to the garden or to larger containers.

Very long sweet Landes peppers thrive in soil rich in organic matter and well drained, and they need plenty of sunshine to develop properly. It's also important to keep the soil evenly moist throughout the growing season. Peppers can be harvested while still green or left to ripen to a red, yellow or orange color, depending on the variety. To harvest peppers, use a sharp knife to cut them from the plant, leaving a small stem attached to the fruit. Very long sweet Landes peppers can be used fresh in salads, stir-fries, grilled or stuffed dishes, or preserved by drying or freezing for later use.

The Poivron Doux Très Long des Landes, originally from the Basque Country, is distinguished by its elongated 15 cm peppers with thin skins that turn red when fully ripe. Its sweet, fragrant taste makes it a choice ingredient for salads or cooked dishes. It is also used in piperade, a Basque specialty.

To sow successfully, start in February or March, placing the seeds in cups of fine potting soil, 2-3 mm deep, in a greenhouse heated to 25°C. Take care to keep the potting soil moist, without excess water.

After transplanting the plants in May, in light, well-aerated soil at a distance of 50 cm, be sure to provide regular watering and apply mulch.

Peppers are generally harvested 5-6 months after sowing, when the fruit has reached full maturity
