Non-running green zucchini seeds enable you to grow a particular variety appreciated for its delicate flavor and tender texture. Unlike some zucchini varieties that produce creeping vegetables, non-running green zucchini grows on a compact bush, making it easy to manage in the garden.

To grow non-running green zucchinis successfully, we recommend sowing the seeds in soil rich in organic matter and well drained, in a sunny spot in the garden. Zucchini need regular watering to keep the soil moist, especially during hot, dry spells.

    Good to know:

    Sowing: April / June
    Harvest: May / August

The Coucourzelle zucchini is a traditional variety of non-runny zucchini, semi-early and productive, offering elongated dark-green fruits marbled with light green, to be eaten when young for their fine, high-quality white flesh.

To sow Coucourzelle zucchinis successfully, we recommend starting in April, using pots in a well-lit spot. To encourage zucchini development, pinch the stems and hoe, weed and mulch the soil around the plants to limit weed growth and preserve moisture. Water at the foot of the plants in summer to avoid wetting the foliage.

As far as good combinations are concerned, avoid planting potatoes nearby, but instead combine zucchinis with beans and cabbage.

If your zucchini plant doesn't produce flowers or fruit, this may be due to high temperatures or a lack of pollination. In this case, be sure to attract pollinators to your garden by sowing floral mixes to encourage pollination and fruiting.

Zucchini can be harvested around 2 months after sowing. It's recommended to harvest zucchini when they're young to avoid them becoming bitter, but it's also possible to let them grow for a more abundant harvest.
