English long cucumber seeds enable you to grow a specific variety of cucumber appreciated for its long, smooth shape. Long English cucumbers are often used in salads, sandwiches and dips because of their crunchy texture and mild flavor.
To grow English long cucumbers successfully, we recommend sowing the seeds in soil rich in organic matter and well drained, in a sunny spot in the garden or in containers on a balcony or terrace. Cucumbers need enough water to keep the soil moist, especially during hot, dry periods.
It's also important to provide support for cucumbers to prevent them dragging on the ground and rotting. Trellises or cages are often used for this purpose.

    Good to know:

    Sowing: March / May
    Harvest: June / September

The Long English Cucumber is renowned for its delicious, firm, crunchy fruit, especially when picked at around 30 cm in length, offering optimal texture and taste.

A practical tip for growing cucumbers is to take into account their nature runner: most varieties produce long stems that can quickly take up a lot of space in the garden. For small vegetable gardens, it's a good idea to encourage plants to grow taller, by helping them to climb up a fence or similar support. The tendrils of the cucumber plants will cling naturally to the support and the fruit will benefit from better exposure to light, avoiding soil soiling and making harvesting easier. This method is also effective for growing gherkins.
