Basil seeds allow you to grow a classic variety of basil, much appreciated for its strong aroma and distinctive flavor. Green basil is an annual herbaceous plant native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, but is widely cultivated around the world for its aromatic leaves.
To grow tall green basil, you can sow the seeds directly in well-drained soil rich in organic matter, or start them indoors in pots before transplanting them outdoors once the risk of frost has passed. This plant prefers a warm, sunny spot, with regular watering to keep the soil slightly moist.

Basil is a versatile herb used in many cuisines around the world, including Italian, Asian and Mediterranean. Its leaves are often added to salads, sauces, pizzas, pastas and tomato-based dishes for their distinctive fragrance and fresh flavor. You can also use fresh basil to make pesto, or dry it for later use. With the right care, you can harvest basil all season long.

    Good to know:

    Sowing: March / April
    Harvest: June / October

Basil Simple Grand Vert embodies the quintessence of classic basil, offering a perfect balance of flavors. Its lush, dark-green, spoon-shaped leaves measure around 4 cm long by 2.5 cm wide, emanating a bewitching fragrance.

For successful planting, be sure to maintain a constant minimum temperature of 20°C, ideally using a warm bed or heated greenhouse...

To plant your basil plants in the garden, wait until after the last frosts, generally in May or June. Choose well-drained, rich soil with full sun exposure. The addition of manure can be beneficial. Keep a distance of about 50 cm between each plant and water sparingly, without wetting the foliage.

Basil can be harvested in May and June, just before flowering, for maximum flavor. You can continue to harvest leaves throughout the year, as long as the plant still has some. To preserve basil, chop the leaves and freeze them in ice cube trays filled with water, or preserve them in olive oil.

Basil can also be planted between tomato plants to protect them from certain pests. And don't forget, all varieties of basil can be grown in pots, window boxes or balconies, for a touch of fragrant freshness at your fingertips.
