    Organically grown (AB)

    Good to know :

    Sowing: March / April
    Harvest: May / July

Common wormwood, both an aromatic and medicinal wonder, rises majestically as a perennial, reaching up to 1.50 meters in height, draped in its downy, silvery foliage. Its powerful, distinctive fragrance is both invigorating and repellent, brilliantly warding off certain garden pests such as slugs, snails, flea beetles and cabbageworm. Native to the dry regions of Asia and Europe, it unfurls its bright yellow flowers from July to September, adding a touch of light to its surroundings.

In the kitchen, wormwood leaves and flowers are precious treasures. They enrich the composition of liqueurs, aperitifs, herbal teas, decoctions and mother tinctures. Its many medicinal virtues make it a choice ally for aperitifs, digestion, deworming and keeping away unwanted insects such as moths and ants.

To sow wormwood successfully, we recommend choosing the months of March to May, or September, in a nursery or under a tunnel. The delicate seeds should be covered with 1 mm of soil for optimum germination. In hot or dry weather, regular watering ensures vigorous growth. Selective pruning can also be carried out in autumn, to encourage vigorous growth the following spring.

Leaves and flowers are harvested in early summer, offering an abundance of flavors to exploit. Seeds, meanwhile, can be harvested in September or October, ensuring the longevity of this precious plant through the seasons.
