Good to know :
Sowing: April / June
Harvest: August / SeptemberBuckwheat is an annual plant with multiple uses: soil improver, natural weedkiller and cleanser for poor, acid soils. Cultivated quickly, it effectively fights weeds while enriching the soil with nitrogen and phosphorus.
For successful buckwheat sowing, choose April to June for summer use, or July to September for winter use. Sow in rows 2 to 3 cm deep and 4.5 cm apart, at a density of 150 grams per 30 m².
Mowing takes place about 6 to 8 weeks after sowing, in late summer before the plant goes to seed. Dig in the residues about 3 weeks after mowing.
Don't forget to leave part of your crop in flower, as buckwheat attracts bees thanks to its melliferous properties, thus promoting pollination.
