Harvest: July / SeptemberThis plant, reaching around 1.5 meters in height, is distinguished by its beautiful pink flowers in panicles and its large leaves. The variety can be dried to obtain a mild tobacco.
Be careful when opening the sachet, as the seeds are very fine.
To sow tobacco successfully, sow from March to May in a nursery on seedbed soil that is kept constantly moist. Do not bury the seeds, but place them on the sowing compost and press lightly. Water with a sprayer until germination, which takes about 15 days. When the plants have grown to around 10 cm, acclimatize them for ten days outdoors, temperatures permitting.
For planting, once the risk of frost has passed, generally in mid-May, place the plants about 15 cm apart in full sun in rich soil, 60 cm apart. Flowering takes place in early summer, with harvesting between July and August.
