    Good to know:

    Sowing: February / May
    Harvest: June / October

Lemon balm, a perennial with aromatic and medicinal virtues, is a true ally in your garden. With its white flowers blooming between June and August and its leaves giving off a strong lemony scent, it offers a unique sensory experience.

In the kitchen, you can harvest its leaves as and when needed to add to a variety of dishes, including fish dishes, salads and sauces. Its lemony flavor will add a touch of freshness and originality to your recipes.

But the benefits of lemon balm don't stop there. In infusion, herbal tea or even as a refreshing summer drink, it offers a whole range of medicinal properties: it is calming, antispasmodic, stomachic, carminative and sudorific. In addition, when applied externally, it can soothe irritations caused by insect bites.

You have several options for successfully sowing lemon balm. From February to April, you can sow in a nursery and plant out in the autumn. Alternatively, you can choose to sow in late spring, in cool, well-drained soil in partial shade. It's important to note that lemon balm does not appreciate drought or excess humidity.

After harvesting, don't hesitate to cut back the plant to encourage new shoots to appear, so you can enjoy a continuous harvest throughout the season.
