The Common Chervil:
- Soil maintenance : light and humid soil. Thin out to leave only one plant every 15 cm, once the plant has four real leaves
- Exposure: sunny in spring, half-shaded in summer
- Sowing: outdoors at 1 mm from the end of spring, when the soil warms up, until September
- Emergence: in 15 days
- Watering: important, the soil must not be dry
- Harvest: as and when you need it. Pick your herbs preferably in the morning, after the dew, this is when they will be the most fragrant. Wrap them in a damp cloth and keep them in a cool place for about a week (accompanied by a lettuce leaf to prevent them from drying out).
- Their flavour will be more pronounced if you harvest your herbs before flowering. Don't pull out leaves, cut off twigs to encourage the regrowth of new stems
- Storage: fresh - store quickly, can be frozen
- Origin: Originally from Russia, it has been used as a medicinal plant since the Middle Ages. Its name means 'herb of joy'
- Weight: 0,1 gCalendar :
