What is coco fiber?
Coco fiber is an inert substrate made from crushed coconuts, making it ideal for hydroponic and even organic plant cultivation (contains no food or nutrients). Ideal for indoor cultivation of seedlings and cuttings, intensive growth and flowering phases, and outdoor cultivation of all plants. It can be used pure or mixed with potting soil (to improve structure/drainage/aeration), for sub-irrigation or percolation. Remember to apply fertilizers when watering your seeds, by measuring the PH and EC (electro conductivity) of the nutrient solution. Coir pots must also have an effective drain to ensure that water from watering drains properly, preventing root rot and other problems and diseases. The main advantage of coir over soil is oxygenation: the root system develops faster.
Where is coir made? There are essentially 2 coir-producing countries: India and Côte d'Ivoire, but the highest-quality coir comes from India.
Some coir fibers are enriched directly with mycorrhizae or trichoderma, the best fungi for root development and enriched growth, with impressive results for your crops.
